An overview of the computer vulnerabilities faced by users on standalone and networked machines, and methods to protect themselves using the concepts of Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability.

Using TrueCrypt to Encrypt Data (2 hours)
An overview of data protection using encryption and a hands-on demonstration of using TrueCrypt software. Topics include protecting your main hard disk, protecting a laptop, strategies for USB drives, and backup considerations.

Introduction to Macintosh Security (3 hours)
Introduces the security features of OS X 10.5. Topics include creating different types of accounts, file sharing, screen sharing, login options, creating strong passwords, creating reliable backups, and encryption strategies. Threats are examined in the basic categories of Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability.

Advanced Macintosh Security (3 hours)
Focuses on advanced standalone options as well as safety on the Internet. Topics include configuring the firewall, advanced Screen Sharing techniques via the command line, automating Time Machine, and safely sharing files with Linux and Windows machines.
